Children eye problems


TrichiasisNormally, our eyelashes should grow outward in order to protect our eyes. Trichiasis is the eye lashes grow inward and scratched our eyes.

Trichiasis is common in children will small eyes. Other causes include thick eye lid , recurrent trachoma, eyelids inflammation and scar remain on eyelids after curing of chalazion.
Children with trichiasis will feel  eye pain, be sensitive to light and always tearing. Corneal scar will be resulted in serious cases, which will affect vision permanently.

Treatment of trichiasis includes using artificial tears, extraction of the abnormal eyelashes, damages the sac of eyelashes by hot or cold methods. Surgery may be required in some serious cases.
