Adult eye problems

DM Retinopathy
DMRDiabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease and would affect our eyes and vision. 60% of  patients with 10 years DM history develop DM Retinopathy. Eye problems due to DM are:

  • Redness at conjunctiva (blood vessel dilation)
  • Cornea would become less sensitivity
  • Neo-vascularization at iris which would induce glaucoma, iritis and uveitis
  • Cataract
  • Macular edema, retinal blood vessels abnormalities which would be possible to induce retinal detachment

An comprehensive eye examination provided by optometrist can find these complications and refer to treatment if necessary.
